A higher level of education

The time that temporary work was only for junior employees with few skills is long gone. Research from Page Personnel shows that the recruitment of specialists is increasing with 84% in IT, 80% in Engineering and 79% in Sales, as a few examples.

This is indicative of a clear shift from generalist to specialist. It is therefore no surprise that almost two thirds of the temporary employees have at least a bachelor degree.

Taking greater responsibility

The temporary employees and interim managers are not only better educated but also more experienced. The majority possess 10 years of work experience or more.

They need that experience, because companies expect them to take more responsibility. This shows how temporary work has professionalised over the last years. Companies hire temporary professionals increasingly in the same roles as their permanent employees.
