About Our Client

Our client, a leader within the tourism sector in Geneva is actively looking for a PR & Events Coordinatory with international experiencce in the Hospitality Sector and based in Geneva.

Job Description

The PR & Events Coordinator will be responsible for promoting the destination to Swiss and European media (print, online, travel guides, blogs, TV, radio, etc.) and communicating a positive image of Geneva abroad, mainly by organizing press trips and blogger events.

Interacting locally with our partners, regional and local media as well as the official authorities in the name of our company is also part of the main responsibilities. This position is one of three PR & Media Coordinators and will be reporting to the Marketing Director. Responsibilities include:

Swiss & European markets (85%-90%)

  • Active role in elaborating PR-Media strategies on European markets
  • Guaranteeing media coverage and ensuring qualitative and quantitative media exposure
  • Collaborating with Switzerland Tourism on several European markets
  • Planning, operating and welcoming media trips by highlighting local experiences that are in line with strategic positioning
  • Establishing and identifying PR/Media projects that will add value to the destination, aligned on the marketing strategy (media conference/events, bloggers events, etc.)
  • Leading and supervising PR-Social Media agencies to build up new media relationships and activate media projects (budget, mandate, deliverable, activation)
  • Liaising and optimizing online media activities with our social media platforms
  • Interacting closely with all key partners of the destination such as hotels, museums, and opinion leaders
  • Producing press releases, presentations and advertorial articles

Locally in Geneva (10-15%)

  • Main PR/Media point of contact for local partners, regional media, and institutions
  • Organizing PR & Media activities locally such as media conferences, events, etc.
  • Spokesperson and main PR contact for local media inquiries and stakeholders

The Successful Applicant

Mandatory requirements:

  • Polycom, SAWI or equivalent PR/Media academic degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in PR/Media within European markets and ideally experience in consumer marketing B2C or Tourism or Hospitality
  • Perfect written and spoken English and French
  • Excellent knowledge of German, all additional European languages are a clear plus
  • Excellent writing, grammar and editing skills
  • Established network in Geneva with hotels and/or touristic partners and/or official authorities
  • Available and very flexible about working evenings and week-ends

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you are open minded and receptive to different cultures. You can manage multiple projects at a time. Last but not least, you have unbeatable knowledge and you are passionate about Geneva as a destination (politics, culture, tourism).
